About Inria and the Job
Public science and technology institution established in 1967, Inria is the only public research body fully dedicated to computational sciences. Combining computer sciences with mathematics, Inria’s 3,449 researchers strive to invent the digital technologies of the future.

Digital technologies are generating new services, they deeply change our lifestyles and improve our daily life. In France, Inria is the only public research institute entirely dedicated to digital sciences. 400 R & D engineers assist the scientists in their daily work, they develop software tools to facilitate the research and set up technology platforms for experimentation.
the MARMOTE project (https://wiki.inria.fr/MARMOTE/Welcome) aims at realizing the prototype of a software environment dedicated to modeling with Markov chains. It brings together seven partner teams, expert in markovian analysis, who will develop advanced solution algorithms and applications in different scientific domains: reliability, distributed systems, biology, physics and economics.
Mission
The candidate will work mainly on the development and integration of the perfect simulation software PSI3. The PSI3 software will be integrated in the Marmote software package in the WP3 context. Priority will be given to the simulation performance through efficient parallel programming.
Job description
- Development of an efficient parallel instance of PSI3
- Design and generate automated functional and performance tests
- Software packaging for multi-platform support (Linux/MacOSX…)
- Experimental design
- Integration of simulation kernel in R for experiments
- Software integration in the Marmote collaborative platform
- Software documentation
Skills and profile
Experienced engineer : MsSc or engineering degree required (PhD Diploma accepted) and 2 to 7 years software development experience.
- Significant experience in parallel programming
- Very good knowledge of C and OpenMP
- Proficiency in statistical programming language R
- Proficiency with software engineering environments
- Ability to communicate in english (oral and written) with international scientists
- Knowledgeable in mathematics, statistics and simulation
